Profhilo Treatments:
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is made of injectable hyaluronic acid (like a dermal filler) which improves skin quality and treats skin laxity. Profhilo is produced in a special way which means not only does it hydrate and act like scaffolding within the skin, it also triggers a response in the tissue known as ‘bioremodeling’ which smooths and tightens the skin. We use Profhilo on the face, neck, décolletage and hands to give you an inner glow!
How long does Profhilo take to work?
The results aren’t immediate as Profhilo is a 2-part treatment; each session is 30 days apart from one another. In those 30 days after each session, your skin works hard, producing new, bouncy collagen and elastin to give your skin a firmer, smoother, plumper complexion. Full results are seen 30 days after the second session as your skin produces more and more collagen and elastin, however, some changes can often noticed after the first session.
What will I look like after the Profhilo treatment?
There is no downtime; immediately after the procedure, you can see small bumps, much like an insect bite or bee sting, at the site of the injection. These are very easy to cover usually and can take up to 24 hours to settle.
What are the risks of having Profhilo?
Common side-effects of Profhilo are similar to other types of fillers and include mild bruising and swelling. Risks are the same as other fillers and can include allergic reaction or infection though these are exceptionally rare. The injections sting briefly, but patients generally report only mild discomfort. After the treatment, you may experience some very mild tenderness for the first 24 – 72 hours.
Is Profhilo the same as Dermal filler?
No, Dermal fillers are used to target specific areas of wrinkles or skin folds to restore the structure of the face giving an appearance of lift and better projection and stay in one place. Profhilo, remodels the skin and reduces skin laxity, it it used to improve the skin quality rather than increased volume.
