Key Components of the PRP & Skin Needling Course
Theory and Science
This specialised training equips you with the essential skills and in-depth knowledge to safely and effectively take blood and administer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Skin Needling treatments.
Anatomy and Physiology – PRP Treatments
Understand the vascular system and learn how to safely perform cannulation, butterfly, and needle extraction for blood collection.
PRP Process: Discover how this regenerative treatment stimulates healing, tissue repair, and collagen production to target skin rejuvenation, hair loss, and musculoskeletal injuries.
Microneedling: Learn how this advanced skin tightening and rejuvenation procedure improves skin texture, treats sun damage, and reduces scarring.
Treatment Protocols & Patient Results
- Understand that PRP typically requires a course of treatments to optimise results.
- Learn about the safe use of local anaesthetic to minimise patient discomfort.
- Gain knowledge of contraindications and side effects of both PRP and microneedling to ensure maximum patient safety.
Combination Therapies
Discover how PRP and Microneedling can be safely combined with other rejuvenating aesthetic treatments such as dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections to deliver enhanced results.
Mechanism of Action
Understand how the micro-injuries created by needling stimulate collagen and elastin production, resulting in firmer, smoother skin. Treatments effectively target common concerns such as skin laxity, acne scarring, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Targeted Treatment Areas
Learn how PRP and Microneedling can be used on a variety of areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, knees, and elbows.
Treatment Experience
Candidates will learn how to prepare patients for the procedure, manage discomfort with strong numbing cream applied 45 minutes beforehand, and deliver treatments safely. A session typically takes 30–45 minutes and concludes with a soothing hyaluronic acid mask.
Downtime & Results
Patients generally experience minimal downtime. Mild redness, similar to sunburn, usually resolves within 24 hours and can be covered with light makeup. Initial results are visible within 2–3 weeks, with optimal outcomes achieved after 45–60 days. Most patients benefit from two treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
