Key Components of the Thread Vein Removal Course
Theory and Science
Thread veins are small, unsightly vessels located just beneath the skin’s surface, typically red or purple in appearance.
You will learn:
The causes of thread veins, including pressure, trauma, pregnancy, weight gain, and prolonged standing.
How meso-sclerotherapy works: a medical procedure in which a chemical solution is injected into the veins, causing them to close. The body’s natural immune system then reabsorbs and dissolves the vein, making it invisible.
Anatomy and Physiology
- Thread veins (telangiectasia) are tiny, damaged blood vessels linked to the superficial vascular network.
- Learn how these vessels weaken, dilate, and increase blood flow, making them visible at the skin’s surface.
- Gain an understanding of the anatomical structures involved and the physiological process behind treatment.
Safety and Complications
- Meso-sclerotherapy is a safe and effective procedure when performed correctly.
- You will learn how to manage common side effects such as pain, swelling, and skin discolouration.
- Training will also cover the prevention and management of rare but more serious complications, including ulceration, blood clots, and allergic reactions.
Practical Training
- All candidates will participate in supervised, hands-on sessions.
- You will be expected to consult with patients, obtain consent, and prepare them for treatment.
- Learn to administer multiple small injections safely and effectively while discussing treatment protocols, aftercare, and the patient journey.
